The Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA), under the Government of India, has released a vacancy circular inviting applications for the post of Director (Information Technology) on a deputation/absorption basis. This recruitment is open to eligible personnel serving in the Central or State Government, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Autonomous Bodies, or Statutory Bodies.
WDRA is a statutory body established under the Warehousing (Development and Regulation) Act, 2007 and has been functioning since October 26, 2010. As India’s warehousing regulator, the Authority shapes policies that strengthen storage infrastructure and commodity financing.

Age Limit
- Applicants for deputation must be 56 years or younger when applying.
Educational Qualification and Experience
- While the circular does not provide specific educational qualifications, typically for a Director (IT) post in the government sector, the candidate should have:
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in IT systems, cyber security, software development, data management, or e-governance projects.
- Holding an analogous post on a regular basis or having the required service in the feeder grade as per Central Staffing Scheme or relevant deputation norms.

Pay Scale

- House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be admissible as per Central Government norms since WDRA does not provide residential facilities.
- Other benefits will be as per rules for deputation posts under DoPT OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay II) dated 17th June 2010 and subsequent amendments.
Selection Process
- The selection will be based on deputation/absorption norms as defined by Government of India guidelines.
- The candidates will be evaluated based on:
- Eligibility and service record
- Vigilance clearance
- Annual Confidential Reports (CRs) for the last five years
- Recommendations from the present employer
- The deputation period will initially be for three years, which may be extended as per the authority’s requirement.
- Absorption into WDRA may be considered only after two years of successful service on deputation and subject to the organization’s needs and performance review.
- Candidates once recommended cannot withdraw their application at a later stage.
