Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
Candidates must have a degree in one of the following fields from a recognized institution:
- Full-time B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from a Central or State Institute of Hotel Management (CIHM/SIHM/PIHM) affiliated with the National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHM&CT)/UGC/AICTE/Government of India.
- BBA/MBA (Culinary Arts) from Indian Culinary Institutes under the Ministry of Tourism.
- B.Sc. in Hotel Management and Catering Science from government-recognized universities affiliated with UGC/AICTE/Government of India/State Government.
- MBA in Tourism and Hotel Management from government-recognized universities affiliated with UGC/AICTE/Government of India/State Government.
Experience Requirement
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the hospitality industry to be eligible to apply.
Age Limit (as of 01.01.2025)
- General (UR): Up to 28 years
- OBC: Up to 31 years (3 years relaxation)
- SC/ST: Up to 33 years (5 years relaxation)
- PwBD Candidates: 10 years relaxation
- Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation based on service tenure plus 3 years
Place of Posting
- The selected candidates will be posted in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh. However, they may also be deployed anywhere in India as per IRCTC’s requirement.
Selection Process
Candidates need to fill out an application form and submit it at the venue on the day of the interview. The selection process involves the following steps:
- Document Verification: Candidates must bring original documents, attested copies of required certificates, and two recent passport-size photographs.
- Personal Interview: Shortlisting will be based on the candidate’s performance in the interview.
- Final Selection: Candidates will be selected in order of merit, and an additional reserve panel of 06 candidates will be maintained.
Remuneration and Allowances
Selected candidates will receive a CTC of Rs. 30,000/- per month (including statutory deductions). In addition, they will be entitled to the following benefits:
- Daily Allowance: Rs. 350/- per day for on-duty travel on trains.
- 100% for more than 12 hours
- 70% for 6-12 hours
- 30% for less than 6 hours
- Lodging Charges: Rs. 240/- for overnight stays at outstation locations.
- National Holiday Allowance (NHA): Rs. 384/- per holiday worked.
- Medical Insurance: Reimbursable as per IRCTC guidelines.
Scope of Work
The role of a Hospitality Monitor involves:
- Supervising and monitoring food production, quality, and service in assigned catering units.
- Ensuring compliance with IRCTC policies and hospitality standards.
- Overseeing manpower and material management in catering units.
- Handling customer service and complaint resolution.
- Gathering customer feedback and implementing necessary improvements.
- Ensuring adherence to statutory regulations and company policies.
- Educating staff on equipment maintenance and operational best practices.
- Coordinating with various departments, business partners, and vendors.
