The Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) under the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (SMP-Kolkata) invites applications for filling up one anticipated vacancy for the post of Assistant Vigilance Officer Gr. I. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants are required to fulfill the following eligibility criteria to be considered for the application process:
Educational Qualification
- A Degree from a recognized University is mandatory.
Experience
- Officers should be either:
- Holding an analogous post, or
- Serving in a pay scale of ₹40,000 – 1,40,000/- (earlier ₹16,400 – 40,500/-) with a minimum of three years of continuous regular service in the current grade.
Service Background
- The officer must be currently serving in any of the following organizations:
- Major Port Trusts
- Central Government
- State Government
- Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)
- Autonomous Bodies
Salary Details
- Salary Range: ₹50,000 to ₹1,60,000/- (equivalent to Class–I Officer position)
- Pre-Revised Scale: ₹20,600 – ₹46,500/-
- The pay and allowances shall be governed according to the rules applicable to Class-I officers of SMP-Kolkata.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be done strictly on merit basis, adhering to the following norms:
- Evaluation will be carried out based on the ACRs/APARs from the past five years.
- Candidates must have earned an overall “Good” or higher grade consistently.
- Vigilance and administrative clearances must be satisfactory.
- Any major or minor penalty imposed within the last ten years will be taken into account during evaluation.
- Preference will be given to candidates with proven work experience in vigilance assignments.

- Fill the application in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-II).
- Enclose Required Documents:
Applicants must attach the following documents with the application:- Certified copies of the Annual Performance Appraisal Reports (APARs) for the past five years. In case any APAR is missing, a certificate confirming its non-availability must be provided.
- Attested photocopies of certificates supporting educational qualifications and work experience.
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the present employer/organization.
- Undertaking stating that the candidate will not withdraw their candidature once selected.
- Vigilance Clearance and Administrative Clearance (Annexure-III format).
- Two recent passport-size color photographs.
- Complete service details, mentioning posts held, pay scales, and duration.
- Forwarding Authority’s Responsibilities:
The forwarding authority (employer/organization) must ensure:- Application is correctly verified and complete.
- The vigilance report is provided in the format specified by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways
- Information about any disciplinary action (if applicable) is enclosed with relevant documents.
