UIDAI Recruitment 2025: Apply for Deputy Director and Assistant Director (Technology) Posts on Deputation Basis

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), a statutory authority under the Aadhaar Act, 2016, has released a recruitment notification for filling up key technical positions at its Technology Centre in Bengaluru. Applications are invited from eligible Central/State Government officers, including those from Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and Autonomous Organizations, on a deputation basis for the posts of Deputy Director (Technology) and Assistant Director (Technology).

This recruitment drive offers an excellent opportunity for officers with an IT/Engineering background to contribute to one of India’s most crucial digital initiatives—Aadhaar. Application Fees

  • No application fee is required for this recruitment.
  • However, applications should be submitted via the appropriate administrative pathway, with prior consent from the authority overseeing the applicant’s cadre.

Age Limit

  • Upper Age Limit: Must be under 56 years of age as of the application deadline, which is 12th May 2025.
  • Applicants must also have at least 3 years of residual service before retirement on the closing date.

Pay protection will be offered as per DoPT rules. However, perquisites will not be protected for officers from organizations with differing DA/perk structures.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Deputy Director (Technology)

Essential:

  • Officers from Central Government:
    • Holding analogous posts, or
    • With 3 years of regular service in Level 10, or
    • With 5 years in Level 9, or
    • With 6 years in Level 8
  • Or, officers from State Government/PSUs/Autonomous bodies in corresponding grades
  • Education: Four-year degree in Engineering or Technology, or Master’s in Computer Applications
  • Age: Below 56 years

Desirable:

  • Experience in Project Management, Procurement, RFP Preparation, ICT Projects, e-Governance, Networking, Telecom, or Information Security

2. Assistant Director (Technology)

Essential:

  • Officers from Central Government:
    • Holding analogous posts, or
    • With 3 years in Level 9, or
    • With 4 years in Level 8, or
    • With 6 years in Level 7
  • Or, officers from State Government/PSUs/Autonomous bodies in corresponding grades
  • Education: Four-year degree in Engineering or Technology, or Master’s in Computer Applications
  • Age: Below 56 years

Desirable:

  • Same as above

How to Apply

Application Procedure

  1. Apply through proper channel from the parent organization.
  2. Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format (Annexure I) along with:
    • Forwarding letter (Annexure II)
    • Cadre clearance
    • Certified copies of ACRs/APARs for the previous 5 years.

All documents should be properly certified by an officer of at least the rank of Under Secretary to the Government of India or an equivalent authority within the parent organization.

Terms and Conditions of Deputation

  • Tenure: 3 to 5 years (subject to the availability from the lending organization)
  • Leave entitlement will be in accordance with the Central Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 1972.
  • Service Rules: Governed by UIDAI’s 2020 Appointment and Service Regulations
  • Pay Protection: Applicable per DoPT O.M. No. 6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay II), dated 17.6.2010
  • Medical Benefits: Officers already availing CGHS may continue; others will be covered under UIDAI’s Medical Reimbursement Scheme

Important Instructions

  • Applications are open exclusively to government officers with at least five years of service.
  • Private candidates are not eligible for this deputation.
  • Officers holding similar positions may be given preference.
  • Candidature once submitted cannot be withdrawn.
  • Officers must have at least 3 years of service left as on the application closing date.
