THSTI Invites Applications for Research Associate-I Position

The Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, is inviting applications for the post of Research Associate-I. The position is offered under a research project titled “Pre-clinical animal model platform to study disease severity and post COVID-19 sequelae,” led by Dr. Amit Awasthi. This role provides an excellent opportunity for PhD holders in Life Sciences to contribute to significant scientific research in immunology and virology within a high-level research environment.

Important Date

Application Fees

• Candidates belonging to Unreserved, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 236.
• Candidates from SC, ST, Women, and PwBD categories are required to pay Rs. 118.
  The fee is non-refundable and should be paid through the online payment system during the application process.

Eligibility

Educational Qualification

• The candidate must hold a Ph.D.in Life Sciences from an accredited university or institution.

Desirable Experience

• Prior experience in virology or immunology is preferred.
• Proficiency in immunological and virological assays conducted under Biosafety Level-2 or Biosafety Level-3 conditions is desirable.
• Experience with animal models for pre-clinical studies, including handling and administering substances, is advantageous.
• Ability to analyze scientific data, prepare reports, and contribute to publications is expected.

Salary

• The appointed candidate shall be entitled to a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 47,000 per month along with House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per institutional norms and Government of India rules.

Selection Process

• The selection process will involve screening of applications based on eligibility and relevant experience.
• Shortlisted candidates will be invited for further evaluation through interview or written test as applicable.
• The decision of the screening and selection committees will be final.
• If the number of applications is high, THSTI may adopt higher benchmarks for shortlisting candidates.
