Selection Process

The selection process may include multiple stages, depending on the number of applicants for each position. Here’s how it works:

  1. Shortlisting/Screening:
If there are fewer than 50 eligible applicants for a position, the selection will be based solely on a Personal Interview. If the number of applicants is higher, a Computer-Based Test (CBT) will be conducted, followed by a Personal Interview.
  2. Computer-Based Test (CBT):
    The CBT will consist of:
    • General Awareness (15 questions)
    • Reasoning (15 questions)
    • Discipline-Specific (120 questions)
The total marks for the exam will be 150, with a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
  3. Personal Interview:
Candidates who qualify the CBT will move on to the Personal Interview, which will carry 100% weightage if no written test is conducted. For positions requiring the CBT, the final selection will be based on a combined score:
    • 75% weightage for CBT marks
    • 25% weightage for Interview marks
Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% overall (for UR/EWS/OBC) and 40% (for SC/ST/PwBDs) to be considered for empanelment.

Age Relaxation and Concession

  • Age Relaxation:
    • 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (NCL) candidates.
    • 10 years for PwBD-General/EWS candidates, 13 years for PwBD-OBC (NCL), and 15 years for PwBD-SC/ST candidates.
    • Additional relaxation for candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 and Ex-Servicemen.

Selected candidates will be offered a competitive compensation package. In addition, THDCIL provides excellent career growth opportunities, training programs, and exposure to major power generation projects across India.
