The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts these examinations to recruit talented individuals proficient in both English and Hindi languages. The job post of a junior or senior translator is highly sought after by candidates who possess excellent language skills and a passion for translation.

As an SSC translator, you will be responsible for translating official documents, reports, letters, and other materials from one language to another. This role requires strong linguistic abilities as well as a deep understanding of grammar rules, idioms, technical terms, and cultural nuances.

To be eligible for these positions, candidates must meet certain criteria set by the SSC. They should hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with Hindi and English as compulsory subjects or should have completed their Master’s degree in any subject with English medium education.

The selection process consists of two papers – Paper 1 (Computer-based Test) followed by Paper 2 (Descriptive Test). Paper 1 evaluates candidates’ proficiency in General Hindi & General English while testing their comprehension skills. Those who qualify for Paper 1 are then shortlisted for the descriptive test – Paper 2 which assesses their translation abilities.

Once selected through these rigorous exams conducted by SSC under its recruitment drive every year; successful candidates can look forward to a rewarding career as translators in various government departments such as Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Central Secretariat Official Language Service (CSOLS), Indian Railways, Armed Forces Headquarters etc.

Working as an SSC translator not only offers stability but also opportunities for growth within the organization. It allows you to contribute towards bridging language barriers and facilitating effective communication between different stakeholders at all levels.
