The Haldia Dock Complex (HDC), operating under Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port (SMP), Kolkata — previously known as Kolkata Port Trust — is seeking applications for the contractual position of Assistant Manager (Accounts) basis under its Finance Division. The port, one of the oldest and most significant on the eastern coast of India, is seeking qualified finance professionals to contribute to its financial and audit operations. Eligibility Criteria:

1. Age Limit:

  • Maximum 45 years as on May 29, 2025.

2. Educational Qualifications:

  • The applicant must be a member of either:
    • The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI)
    • The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI)

3. Desirable Qualification:

  • Preference will be given to candidates having:
    • Knowledge of SAP
    • Work experience in SAP environment

Salary and Benefits:

  • Consolidated Remuneration:75,000/- per month.
  • Annual Increment: Based on Annual Performance Appraisal.
  • Contract Period: 3 years (extendable).
  • Accommodation: Unfurnished housing at HDC may be provided, depending on availability, with applicable license fee and electricity charges payable by the occupant.

Medical Benefits:

  • Medical Facility: Access to both indoor and outdoor treatment at the Port Hospital for the employee, their spouse, and up to two dependent children (aged up to 21 years). In case of twins during second childbirth, all children will be covered.
  • Cashless medicine purchase from designated pharmacy.
  • Diagnostic tests from approved labs reimbursed.
  • Referral Facility: Permission granted for both outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) treatment at Centenary Hospital, Kolkata.
  • Mediclaim Subsidy: Reimbursement of 25% of the health insurance premium, capped at ₹5,000 per year.
  • Treatment for injuries sustained during service is fully covered.

Leave:

  • 15 days’ paid leave per year
  • 10 days medical leave per year (50% of unutilized leave can be carried forward during contract period)
  • Half-day leave is permissible within overall limit.

Other Benefits:

  • Ex-gratia payment, as approved annually.
  • DAV Public School Sponsorship: Wards eligible as sponsored candidates.
  • Telephone Reimbursement: Up to ₹ 400/- per month.
  • Gratuity Contribution: 8.33% of annual remuneration contributed to a Gratuity Fund (e.g., LICI).
  • Transport & Canteen Facilities: Available as per HDC norms.
  • Travel Allowance / Daily Allowance: As per entitlement during official tours.

Selection Process:

The hiring process will unfold in the subsequent stages:

Group Discussion (GD)

  1. Personal Interview

The ultimate merit list will be compiled based on the candidate’s performance across both stages. Fulfilling the eligibility criteria does not automatically confer a right to selection. The selection panel’s decision will be deemed final and binding.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage functions related to Finance, Accounts, and Audit.
  • Report to the General Manager (Finance) or any other designated officer.
  • May be deployed at any unit under HDC, SMP-Kolkata as per organizational needs.
  • Required to work 5 days a week, with Saturday work if needed, without compensation.
  • May need to respond to emergency calls beyond regular duty hours.
  • Shall be responsible for entrusted financial records, goods, and property of the Port.
