OPTCL Careers 2025 – Electrical Management Trainee Vacancy Details

Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL), a Government of Odisha enterprise and one of India’s leading transmission utilities, invites applications for the post of Management Trainee (Electrical). Recruitment will be based on the GATE 2025 score in Electrical Engineering. • Notification Release Date: 11 April 2025
• Opening of Online Applications: 11.04.25 (06:00 PM)
• Closing of Online Applications: 02.05.25 (11:59 PM)
• GATE 2025 Examination Schedule: To be conducted as per the timetable released by the organizing institute of GATE 2025.
• Tentative Date for Interview: Details regarding the interview schedule will be shared following the announcement of GATE 2025 results.

Application Fees

• General / SEBC Candidates: ₹1180/- (inclusive of GST)
• SC / ST / PwBD candidates of Odisha and Female candidates: ₹590/- (inclusive of GST)

Reservation Details:

Eligibility

Educational Qualification

• Full-time Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognized university or institution.
• Minimum 60% marks for UR and SEBC candidates.
• Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwBD categories from Odisha are required to have secured a minimum of 50% marks.
• Final-year students may also apply, provided they submit proof of qualification at the time of joining.

GATE 2025 Requirement

• Candidates are required to take the Electrical Engineering (EE) paper in GATE 2025.
• A valid GATE 2025 score is mandatory for eligibility and selection.
• The valid GATE score must be provided at the time of submitting the application.

Age Limit (As on 01 January 2025)

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 32 years
• Relaxation in Upper Age Limit:
  • SC, ST, SEBC, Women, Ex-Servicemen: 5 years
  • PwBD: 10 years

Salary

During Training Period

• Stipend: ₹50,000/- per month
• Training duration: 1 year
• Training includes classroom and on-the-job modules across OPTCL locations

After Successful Completion of Training

• Designation: Assistant Manager (Electrical)
• Pay Scale: ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500 (Pay Matrix Level: E3 Grade)
• Other Benefits:

  • Provident Fund, Gratuity, and other allowances as per company policy

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting Based on GATE 2025 Score
   • Only those who possess a valid GATE 2025 score in the Electrical Engineering discipline will be eligible for consideration.
   • The GATE score will be the basis for preparing the merit list.
2. Personal Interview
   • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
   • Final selection will be based on the following weightage:
     • GATE 2025 Score: 90%
     • Personal Interview: 10%
3. Medical Examination
   • Selected candidates must undergo a medical fitness test as per OPTCL standards before final appointment.

Application Process

1. GATE 2025 Registration
   • Candidates must first register and appear for the GATE 2025 examination in the Electrical Engineering discipline.
2. OPTCL Online Application
   • OPTCL will open the application portal following the announcement of GATE 2025 results.
   • Candidates must fill out the application form and upload all required documents, including GATE 2025 scorecard, photograph, signature, and educational certificates.
3. Application Fee Payment
   • Pay the prescribed application fee online based on your respective category.
4. Final Submission
   • After verifying the filled-in details and uploading the necessary documents, candidates must submit the application and retain a copy for future reference.

Bond and Service Agreement

• Candidates selected as Management Trainee (Electrical) will be required to execute a bond to serve OPTCL for at least 3 years after completion of training.
• Bond Amount:
  • ₹3,00,000/- for UR and SEBC candidates
  • ₹50,000/- for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates of Odisha
