National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur has officially opened its doors to aspiring faculty members with the announcement of recruitment for the post of Associate Professor in various departments. Candidates holding a Ph.D. and fulfilling eligibility criteria as per the rules laid down by the Government of India and the Ministry of Education can now apply for these esteemed positions.

Salary Structure

Selected candidates will be offered a pay scale as per the 7th Central Pay Commission guidelines. The appointment will follow the flexible faculty recruitment rules under the four-tier structure adopted by NITs, and changes, if any, will be implemented based on the latest guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

• A Ph.D. in a relevant or equivalent discipline is mandatory.
• Candidates must have First Class in all preceding degrees, i.e., from Bachelor’s degree onwards.

CGPA/Percentage Conversion:

• If not mentioned explicitly, a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale or 60% marks in aggregate is considered equivalent to First Class.
• Conversion standards from individual universities will not be accepted.
• In cases of other grading systems, candidates must provide official certification of equivalency.
