NCPOR Recruitment 2025: Apply for Contractual Positions in Antarctica

The National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR), under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, has released a recruitment notification for various contractual positions for its research bases in Antarctica. This hiring initiative supports the 2025–2027 Indian Antarctic missions, featuring diverse openings across technical, scientific, and support domains. The number of vacancies for each post is as per project requirements and will be finalized during selection.

Age Limit

• The minimum age requirement is 18 years.
• There is no upper age limit specified; however, candidates must be medically fit to work in extreme weather conditions.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification and Experience (post-wise):

• ITI/Diploma/Graduate/Postgraduate in relevant trade or discipline depending on the post
• Most roles call for at least 2 to 4 years of relevant professional experience
• Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in remote areas or field operations, especially in Antarctica or similar environments

Selection Process

• The first round of selection will focus mainly on educational qualifications and professional experience.
• Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Personal Interview (in person or virtual).
• Selected candidates will undergo a comprehensive medical examination to assess their fitness for Antarctic conditions.
• Final selection will be based on performance in the interview and medical clearance.
