Mumbai University Hiring Graduate & Diploma Apprentices – 2025

The University of Mumbai invites online applications from eligible Graduate and Diploma holders for a one-year apprenticeship training program under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992. This training will be regulated by the Board of Apprenticeship Training, Western Region (BOAT-WR). The program aims to provide hands-on experience to young professionals in various fields.

  • No application fee is required to apply for the apprenticeship program.

Eligibility Criteria:

Minimum Educational Qualification:

  • Finance and Accounts Assistant: Graduate in Commerce (Preference for Tally, Typing, MS-CIT certificate holders)
  • Lower Grade Stenographer: Graduate in any faculty (Preference for Stenography Certificate holders in English & Marathi)
  • Jr. Engineer (Civil): Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • Jr. Engineer (Electrical): Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • Law Assistant: Graduate in Law (Preference for Typing, MS-CIT certificate holders)
  • Lab Assistant: Graduate in Science (Preference for Typing, MS-CIT certificate holders)
  • Library Assistant: Graduate in Library Science (Preference for Typing, MS-CIT certificate holders)
  • Electrician: Diploma in Electrician
  • Carpenter: Diploma in Carpentry
  • Plumber: Diploma in Plumbing
  • Mason: Diploma in Masonry
  • Driver: Graduate with a valid Motor Vehicle Driving License
  • Multi Task Operator: Graduate in any faculty (Preference for Typing, MS-CIT certificate holders)

Age & Nationality:

  • Age limit as per Apprenticeship Rules.
  • Only Indian Nationals can apply.

Duration of Training:

  • The training period will span one year in accordance with the provisions of the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act, 1973.

Important Conditions:

  • Candidates must not have undergone Apprenticeship Training elsewhere.
  • Applicants who have accumulated a work experience of one year or beyond are ineligible to apply.
  • Selection will be based on marks obtained in the qualifying degree/diploma and interview performance.

How to Apply:

  1. Register on the NATS 2.0 Portal: Candidates must first enroll in the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal.
  2. Apply for Apprenticeship: After registration, candidates should apply to the respective post through the NATS 2.0 portal using the University of Mumbai ID (WMHMCS101412).
  3. For Queries: Any issues related to the NATS portal should be addressed to the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT), Western Region.
