Kalakshetra Foundation Recruitment 2025 – Faculty Positions Open

Kalakshetra Foundation is a well-known institution that has been promoting Indian classical arts for over 80 years. Founded by Rukmini Devi Arundale, it has become a center of excellence for classical dance and music. The Rukmini Devi College of Fine Arts, one of its key components, provides training in various classical arts, including Bharatanatyam, Carnatic music, and other fine arts.

With the upcoming academic year in focus, Kalakshetra Foundation is looking to appoint highly skilled and experienced individuals as contract faculty. The positions are offered in specific subjects: Bharatanatyam, Carnatic Music (Vocal, Veena, Violin, Mirudangam), and Tamil Language teaching.

Vacancies

Kalakshetra Foundation is hiring faculty for the following positions:

1. Bharatanatyam: 653 positions
2. Carnatic Music – Vocal: 672 positions
3. Carnatic Music – Veena: 523 position
4. Carnatic Music – Violin: 242 position
5. Language Teacher (Tamil): 713 position

The number of vacancies may change based on the specific needs of the institution.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the positions, candidates must meet the following criteria:

1. Bharatanatyam Faculty

• You need to have a Post Diploma in Bharatanatyam from the Kalakshetra Foundation.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of teaching experience with regular art practices.
• Age Limit: Not more than 60 years on the closing date of the application.

2. Carnatic Music Faculty (Vocal/Veena/Violin)

• Educational Qualification:
  • Diploma in Carnatic Music from Kalakshetra Foundation or
  • Degree in Carnatic Music from a recognized university.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of teaching experience with regular art practices in the relevant instrument or vocal.
• Age Limit: Not more than 60 years on the closing date of the application.

3. Language Teacher – Tamil

• Educational Qualification: Degree or Master’s degree in Tamil or a relevant subject.
• Experience: At least 5 years of teaching experience in Tamil language.
• Age Limit: Not more than 60 years on the closing date of the application.

Pay Scale

The consolidated salary for each position will be as follows:

1. Bharatanatyam Faculty

• Salary: Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 36,000 per month.
• Working Hours: 14 to 40 hours per week, depending on the class allocation.

2. Carnatic Music Faculty (Vocal, Veena, Violin)

• Salary: Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 36,000 per month.
• Working Hours: 14 to 20 hours per week.

3. Language Teacher – Tamil

• Salary: Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000 per month.
• For Sanskrit Language Teacher, the salary can go up to Rs. 30,000 per month.
• Working Hours: Minimum of 8 hours per week.

Selection Process

The selection process will involve the following steps:

1. Screening of Applications: All applications will be reviewed for eligibility based on educational qualifications and experience.
2. Interview/Selection Test: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview or a demonstration class, depending on the subject.
3. Final Selection: Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the interview, teaching demonstration, and overall qualifications.
4. Selection will be on an empanelment basis, meaning shortlisted candidates will be placed on a panel, and appointment offers will be given as and when there’s an actual need.
