The A&N Islands Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) invites applications from eligible and willing employees currently serving in the Central Government, State Government, Union Territory Administrations, Public Sector Undertakings, and Autonomous Organizations for the post of Development Officer. The position is to be filled on deputation (including short-term contract) plus promotion basis. This is a unique opportunity for qualified individuals to take up a leadership role within the organization, contributing towards the promotion of village industries and entrepreneurship across the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The Development Officer will be responsible for overseeing technical and marketing sections, guiding prospective entrepreneurs, monitoring government-sponsored projects, organizing industrial development programs, and coordinating various field-level activities under the KVIB framework.

Eligibility

The post is open to eligible employees working under Central/State/UT Governments, Public Sector Undertakings, or Autonomous Organizations who fulfill the following conditions:

A. Officers from Government, PSUs, or Autonomous Bodies

(i) Should be regularly occupying a similar post in the parent department or cadre.

OR
(ii) Must have completed six years of continuous service in Pay Matrix Level 5 (Rs.. 29,200 – 92,300)

AND

(iii) Should hold one of the following educational qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in any discipline from an accredited university.
  OR
• A postgraduate degree in Science or Commerce from an accredited university.

B. Internal Candidates

• Technical Assistants who have six years of continuous service in Pay Level 5 (Rs. 29,200 – 92,300) at KVIB are also qualified to apply.
• If selected, such internal candidates will be considered as promoted rather than deputed.

Salary

• Pay Matrix Level: Level – 6
• Scale of Pay: Rs. 35,400 – 1,12,400
• The position carries all allowances and benefits applicable under the rules of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration.

Selection Process

• The selection will be based on deputation (ISTC) plus promotion, as per eligibility and service record.
• Applications will be screened based on service history, ACRs/APARs, vigilance status, and qualifications.
• The selected candidate will be appointed initially for one year, extendable up to three years based on performance.
