Pay Scale / Salary Structure

Selected candidates will be appointed under Pay Level-2 of the government pay matrix.

  • Pay Scale: ₹19,900 – ₹63,200 per month

In addition to basic pay, selected candidates will be entitled to allowances such as DA, HRA, and other benefits as per government norms applicable from time to time.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) from a recognized board or institution.

The educational qualification must be completed on or before the cut-off date. Candidates failing to produce valid proof during document verification will be disqualified.

Domicile Requirement

  • Applicants must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • A valid domicile certificate is mandatory and must be valid on or before the last date of application.

Age Limit (As on 01 January 2025)

General Age Criteria

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 28 years

Candidates should not have been born before 01 January 1997 and not after 01 January 2007.

Age Relaxation

  • In-Service Police Personnel: Up to 30 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: Actual service period will be deducted from age, and relaxation up to 3 years beyond the prescribed maximum age is allowed as per rules

Age relaxation for reserved categories is applicable according to government norms.

Reservation Policy

Reservation is applicable as per the Jammu and Kashmir reservation rules. Vacancies are divided among categories such as:

Selection Process

The selection process for Jammu and Kashmir Police Constable (Executive) consists of the following stages:

Written Examination Details

  • The written exam will be objective type (MCQs).
  • Questions will be asked in English language only.

NCC Bonus Marks

Candidates holding NCC certificates will receive bonus marks:

  • NCC “C” Certificate: 5%
  • NCC “B” Certificate: 3%
  • NCC “A” Certificate: 2%

Physical Standard Test (PST)

Candidates shortlisted from the written exam will undergo PST.

For Male Candidates

  • Minimum Height: 5 feet 6 inches
  • Chest (Unexpanded): 32 inches
  • Chest (Expanded): 33.5 inches

For Female Candidates

  • Minimum Height: 5 feet 2 inches

Height Relaxation

  • Gorkha and Bot Tribe candidates are eligible for a height relaxation of 2 inches.

Physical Endurance Test (PET)

Candidates who qualify PST will appear for PET.

Male Candidates

  • 1600 meters race: 6 minutes 30 seconds
  • Push-ups: 20

Female Candidates

  • 1000 meters race: 6 minutes 30 seconds
  • Shot Put (4 kg): 14.5 feet (3 attempts)

Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen

Ex-servicemen are allowed relaxed standards based on age brackets.

Medical Examination

Candidates who qualify all previous stages will undergo a medical examination to assess physical and medical fitness according to police recruitment standards.

Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates must produce original documents, including:
