Responsibilities and Role

Responsibilities of Navik (General Duty – GD):

  1. Maritime Patrol and Surveillance: Ensuring the safety of India’s maritime zones.

Selection Process

The selection process includes:

  1. Written Examination:
    • Objective-type questions based on the syllabus of the post applied for (GD or DB).
    • Subjects for Navik GD: Mathematics, Physics, English, General Knowledge, Reasoning, and Current Affairs.
    • Subjects for Navik DB: Mathematics, General Knowledge, English, and Basic Reasoning.
  2. Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
    • Run: 1.6 km in 7 minutes.
    • Squats: 20 squats.
    • Push-ups: 10 push-ups.
  3. Document Verification:
    • Verification of original documents like educational certificates, identity proofs, and age proofs.
  4. Medical Examination:
    • Comprehensive medical check-up to ensure candidates meet the required health and fitness standards.
