ICMR Funded Project: Openings for Research Scientists, Technical Support, and Data Entry Operators at AIIMS Rishikesh

AIIMS Rishikesh invites applications for various temporary positions under the extramural project titled “Effectiveness of Sarcopenia-Specific Multimodal Ayurveda Treatment Approach (MAT) on Autonomic and Cognitive Function and Myokines, in Older Adults with Sarcopenia: A Randomized Control Trial.” This project, funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, is under the leadership of Principal Investigator Prof Poorvi Kulshreshtha from the Department of Physiology, AIIMS Rishikesh.

The project aims to explore the effectiveness of a multimodal treatment approach in addressing the health concerns of older adults with sarcopenia, focusing on cognitive and autonomic function and myokines. Applications are invited from eligible candidates to fill various positions on a temporary basis.

Vacancy Details

1. Project Research Scientist – I (Medical)
   • Number of Vacancies: 120
   • Monthly Emoluments: ₹67,000 + HRA

2. Project Research Scientist – I (Medical) [Ayush Disciplines]
   • Number of Vacancies: 135
   • Monthly Emoluments: ₹67,000 + HRA
   • Age Limit: Up to 35 years as on the last date of application
3. Project Technical Support – II
   • Number of Vacancies: 165
   • Monthly Emoluments: ₹20,000 + HRA
   • Age Limit: Up to 30 years as on the last date of application
4. Data Entry Operator
   • Number of Vacancies: 150
   • Monthly Emoluments: ₹29,200 (consolidated)
   • Age Limit: Up to 30 years as on the last date of application

Eligibility Criteria

1. Project Research Scientist – I (Medical):

• Minimum Qualification:
  • MBBS/BVSc/BDS from a recognized university
• Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in clinical trials
  • Knowledge of computer applications and statistical packages
• Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day activities of the trial
  • Prepare laboratory protocols/SOPs, teaching materials, and training sessions
  • Perform laboratory testing on patients
  • Maintain laboratory records, reports, and inventory
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports
  • Conduct supervised sessions with patients

2. Project Research Scientist – I (Medical) [Ayush Disciplines]:

• Minimum Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the Ayush disciplines (e.g., Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy) from a recognized university
• Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in clinical trials
  • Knowledge of computer applications and statistical packages
• Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day activities of the trial
  • Prepare laboratory protocols/SOPs, teaching materials, and training sessions
  • Perform laboratory testing on patients
  • Maintain laboratory records, reports, and inventory
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports
  • Conduct supervised sessions with patients

3. Project Technical Support – II:

• Minimum Qualification:
  • 12th pass in Science with a Diploma (MLT/DMLT/Engineering)
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience
• Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in Biochemistry/Electrophysiology Laboratory
• Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure high-quality lab work for the project
  • Assist with data analysis and compilation
  • Support the research team in laboratory activities
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to the project
  • Assist investigators in conducting, monitoring, and coordinating activities

4. Data Entry Operator:

• Minimum Qualification:
  • Graduate degree with relevant experience
  • A speed test requiring a minimum of 8000 key presses per hour.
• Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in medical research projects for at least one year
• Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform data entry work
  • Assist with inventory and logistics management
  • Handle administrative work related to the project

Salary Details

The compensation for these roles will be as outlined below:

• Project Research Scientist – I (Medical) / Ayush Disciplines: ₹67,000 along with HRA.
• Project Technical Support – II: ₹20,000 + HRA
• Data Entry Operator: ₹29,200 (consolidated)

Selection Process

The selection for these positions will be based on the following steps:

1. Scrutiny of Applications:
   All applications received will be screened to check eligibility. Candidates selected for the next stage will be notified regarding the further process.
2. Written Test / Interview:
   The candidates will be assessed based on their qualifications and experience. For some positions, a written test may be held, while others will proceed directly to the interview.
3. Skill Test (for Data Entry Operator):
   A skill test will be conducted for the Data Entry Operator position on 4th June, 2025, to assess typing speed and accuracy.
4. Shortlisting Process:
   In case of a large number of eligible candidates, a merit-based screening process may be applied. Higher educational qualifications, relevant experience, and research publications may be considered to shortlist candidates for the interview.
5. Final Interview:
   The final selection will be based on an interview, which will be held at AIIMS Rishikesh on 5th – 6th June, 2025.
