HPPSC 2025 Combined Competitive Exam – Tehsildar, Assistant Commissioner & More

The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) invites applications for the HPAS Combined Competitive Examination 2025 to recruit candidates for prestigious administrative posts, including Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service (HPAS), Block Development Officer (BDO), Tehsildar, and Assistant Commissioner (State Taxes & Excise). The recruitment procedure is conducted in three distinct phases: an initial Preliminary Examination, followed by the Main Examination, and concluding with a Personal Interview or Personality Assessment.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality & Domicile

• Must be an Indian citizen.
• Reservation benefits (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD/Ex-Servicemen) apply only to bonafide Himachal Pradesh residents.

2. Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
• Candidates in their final year of study are eligible to apply on a provisional basis; however, they must provide valid proof of having successfully completed their degree prior to the commencement of the Main Examination
• Medical graduates (MBBS) who have completed their degree but not internship can apply with a university certificate.

3. Age Limit (as of 01-01-2025)

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 35 years (General)
• Age Relaxation:
  • A relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit is applicable for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PwD categories, and Wards of Freedom Fighters, provided they are domiciled in Himachal Pradesh.
  • As per Govt. rules for Ex-Servicemen and HP Govt. employees.

Selection Process

1. Preliminary Exam (Screening)

• Type: Objective (MCQs)
• Papers:
  • General Studies (200 Marks)
  • Aptitude Test carrying 200 marks (Qualifying in nature – Minimum 33% marks required to pass).
  • Top 20x candidates per vacancy qualify for Mains.

2. Mains Exam (Descriptive)

• Total Papers: 5 (including Essay, General Studies, and Optional Subject)

3. Personality Test (Interview – 150 Marks)

• Evaluates knowledge of HP culture, current affairs, and leadership skills.
