Government of India Jobs – Deputation Opportunities at Brahmaputra Board, Guwahati

The Brahmaputra Board, under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, is inviting applications from eligible officers for deputation-based appointments to various technical, administrative, and financial posts. These positions offer officers the opportunity to serve in vital infrastructure and water resources development projects across the northeastern region of India. The appointments are to be filled on a deputation basis from among officers currently serving in Central/State Governments, Union Territories, Public Sector Undertakings, Statutory or Autonomous Bodies, Universities, or Recognized Research Institutions.

The Brahmaputra Board is a statutory organization responsible for planning and implementing measures for control of floods and bank erosion and for the development and utilization of water resources in the Brahmaputra Valley. Serving in this organization offers the opportunity to contribute to major regional and national projects.

Eligibility

All positions will be filled through deputation appointments. Below is the summary of eligibility for each post:

1. Deputy Chief Engineer
   • Officers in analogous post or with 5 years’ service in Level-12.
   • Preferably with 5 years’ experience in water resource projects.
2. Superintending Engineer
   • Equivalent post or a minimum of five years’ service in Level-11 as an Executive Engineer.
   • Desirable: Experience in water resources development.
3. Executive Engineer (Civil/Mechanical)
   • Analogous post or 5 years as Assistant Executive Engineer in Level-10.
   • Desirable: Relevant project experience.
4. Under Secretary (E)
   • Equivalent position or at least seven years of experience in Level-7 as a Section Officer.
5. Senior Accounts Officer
   • Equivalent role or a minimum of five years’ service in Level-10 as an Accounts Officer.
   • Experience with CPWD system, financial audits, internal controls.
6. Accounts Officer
   • Analogous post or 3 years in Level-7 as Section Officer (Accounts).
   • Hands-on experience in budget management and audit.
7. Section Officer (Secretariat)
   • Analogous post or 5 years in Level-6 as Assistant or Superintendent.
   • Familiarity with establishment matters and Central Govt. rules.
8. Private Secretary
   • Analogous post or 5 years as Stenographer Grade-I in Level-6.
9. Divisional Accountant
   • Equivalent position or at least eleven years of experience in Level-5 as a Junior Accountant.
10. Assistant
    • Analogous post or 10 years as UDC in Level-4.
    • Proficiency in Central Government rules.
11. Upper Division Clerk (UDC)
    • Analogous post or 8 years in Level-2 as LDC.

Age Limit: The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation is 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of application.

Salary

The pay levels for the advertised posts are as follows:

• Level-13: ₹1,23,100 – ₹2,15,900 (Deputy Chief Engineer)
• Level-12: ₹78,800 – ₹2,09,200 (Superintending Engineer)
• Level-11: ₹67,700 – ₹2,08,700 (Executive Engineer, Under Secretary, Senior Accounts Officer)
• Level-10: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 (Accounts Officer)
• Pay Level-7: ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 applicable for posts such as Section Officer, Private Secretary, and Divisional Accountant.
• Level-6: ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 (Assistant)
• Level-4: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100 (Upper Division Clerk)

The salary will be governed by existing deputation rules and is subject to revision as per Government of India norms.

Selection Process

• Selection will be based on eligibility criteria and assessment of service records.
• There will be no written test or interview.
• Selection is strictly in accordance with the rules stated in DoPT O.M. No. 6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay II), dated 17.06.2010 and subsequent amendments.
• Recommendations will be made after reviewing:
  • Integrity and vigilance clearance
  • APARs for the past 5 years
  • Service suitability for the post

The final decision will rest with the competent authority of Brahmaputra Board.

   • All applications should be forwarded through the parent department or cadre controlling authority.
   • Applications should reach the Board within 60 days from the date of publication in Employment News.
4. Important Note:
   • The parent department should relieve the selected officer within one month from the date of issue of appointment orders.
   • Applications that are incomplete or submitted beyond the deadline will not be considered.
