  • Last Date for Submission of Application: 26th May 2025
    Applications must be submitted either by speed post or by hand and should reach the respective regional offices by the due date. No late applications will be accepted under any condition.
  • Interview Dates: To be announced
    Interviews will be conducted only for shortlisted candidates. The detailed schedule for interviews will be released at a later stage on ESIC’s respective regional platforms.

Application Fees

An application fee is required from specific categories of applicants as a part of the submission process

The details are as follows:

  • Fee Amount: ₹500
  • This is applicable to male candidates from the General, OBC, and EWS categories.
  • Exempted Categories:
  • The application fee is waived for the following categories of candidates:
    • All women candidates (irrespective of category)
    • Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates
    • Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates
    • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)
    • Regular ESIC employees
    • Ex-servicemen
  • Payment Mode:
    The application fee must be paid via a Demand Draft (DD) payable to “ESI Fund Account No.” II” and must be payable at the regional office corresponding to the candidate’s chosen posting location.
    Candidates are advised to ensure the following while preparing the DD:
    • The DD must be valid for at least three months.
    • It should be issued after the date of advertisement publication.
    • The fee is non-returnable and will not be refunded under any circumstances, irrespective of the result of the application.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the Specialist Grade-II (Senior/Junior Scale) positions must meet specific academic, professional, and age-related criteria.

1. Age Limit

  • Maximum Age: 45 years as on 26th May 2025.

Age Relaxation Provisions

  • ESIC Employees / Central Government Servants: Up to 5 years
  • SC/ST/OBC Candidates: Age relaxation is applicable only if the vacancy is reserved for the respective category in that specific specialty.

2. Educational Qualifications

Common Requirement (All Candidates):

  • MBBS Degree or an equivalent qualification recognized under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

Postgraduate Qualification:

Candidates must possess:

  • A Postgraduate Degree or Diploma in the concerned specialty.

3. Experience Requirements

  • Senior Scale:
    • Must have 5 years of experience in the relevant specialty after obtaining the PG Degree.
  • Junior Scale:
    • PG Degree holders must have 3 years of post-qualification experience.
    • PG Diploma holders must have 5 years of post-qualification experience.

4. Language Proficiency

  • Candidates must have middle-level working knowledge of the official language of the region/state where they wish to apply.
    For example, knowledge of Telugu is necessary for Andhra Pradesh, Marathi for Maharashtra, and so on.

Pay Scale and Benefits

The salary structure and benefits vary slightly depending on whether the candidate is appointed under the Senior Scale or Junior Scale, but both offer attractive remuneration aligned with the 7th Central Pay Commission.

1. Specialist Grade-II (Senior Scale)

  • Basic Pay: ₹78,800 per month
    (Pay Level 12 under the 7th CPC pay matrix)
  • Allowances:
    • Dearness Allowance (DA): Revised quarterly as per central rates.
    • Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA): 30% of basic pay.
    • House Rent Allowance (HRA): Ranges from 8% to 24% depending on the city of posting.
    • Transport Allowance: As per government guidelines.

2. Specialist Grade-II (Junior Scale)

  • Basic Pay: ₹67,700 per month
    (Pay Level 11 under the 7th CPC pay matrix)
  • Allowances:
    • Same as Senior Scale — includes DA, NPA, HRA, and Transport Allowance.

Apart from the above, ESIC employees are eligible for various other government benefits, including medical reimbursement for self and family, pension, leave travel concessions (LTC), and retirement benefits as per existing rules.

Selection Process

The recruitment will be based on personal interviews conducted for candidates who are shortlisted based on their application and eligibility.

1. Interview Details

  • The selection panel will assess the candidate’s:

2. Minimum Qualifying Marks (out of 100)

  • General/Unreserved (UR) and EWS: 50 marks
  • OBC: 45 marks
  • SC/ST/PwBD: 40 marks

3. Tie-Breaking Criteria

If two or more candidates receive an equal score:

The older candidate will be given preference.

  1. If the tie persists, the candidate who completed PG Degree/Diploma earlier will be selected.
  2. If still tied, the one who completed their internship earlier will be preferred.

4. Reserve List

ESIC may maintain a reserve panel of waitlisted candidates. This list will remain valid for one year and can be used to fill any arising vacancies in the future.
