Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Recruitment 2026: 188 Accounts Officer, Private Secretary & Other Posts on Deputation

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), functioning under the Ministry of Defence, has issued an official notification inviting applications for 188 vacancies across multiple administrative, accounts, engineering, and secretarial positions. These posts will be filled on a Deputation / Absorption basis.

Eligibility Criteria

Joint Director (Administration) – Level 13

  • Officers holding analogous posts or with 5 years in Level 12
  • Degree qualification
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in administration, establishment, or accounts

Joint Director (Accounts) – Level 13

  • Officers holding analogous posts or 5 years in Level 12
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 years’ experience in finance, budgeting, or accounts

Addl CCE – Level 13

  • Civilian officers of organized engineering services or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Architecture
  • 10 years’ experience in project execution, civil works, or estate management

Sr. Accounts Officer Grade-II – Level 10

  • Analogous post holders or 2 years in Level 9 / 4 years in Level 8
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years’ experience in finance/accounts

Administrative Officer – Level 07

  • Analogous post or 5 years in Level 6
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 years’ experience in administration/accounts

Stores Officer – Level 07

  • Analogous post or 5 years in Level 6
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years’ experience in storekeeping or stores accounts

Accounts Officer – Level 07

  • Analogous post or 5 years in Level 6

  • Must have passed Subordinate Accounts Service or equivalent

Private Secretary – Level 07

  • Stenographers holding analogous posts or 5 years in Level 6

Age Limit

The maximum age for appointment on deputation shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of application receipt.

Salary Structure

The selected officers will be placed under Pay Levels 07 to 13 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC), depending on the post. Standard Government of India deputation rules and allowances will apply.

Selection Process

  • Applications must be forwarded through proper channel only.
  • Scrutiny of eligibility and service records will be conducted.
  • Selection will be made strictly on deputation/absorption terms as per Government rules.

Incomplete applications or those not routed through the Cadre Controlling Authority will be rejected.

Important Instructions

  • Applications must include attested photocopies of APARs for the last five years (2019-20 to 2023-24).
  • APARs must be attested by an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary.
  • The deputation period will ordinarily not exceed 3 years.
  • Departmental officers in the feeder category are not eligible for deputation.
  • The number of vacancies may increase or decrease due to administrative reasons.
