Application Fee Details

• General, OBC, and EWS candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹100/-.
• Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities), women applicants, and current employees of CSIR are exempted from paying the application fee.

Vacancy Details

• All positions are suitable for persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD), including Hard of Hearing and certain Locomotor Disabilities.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (for all posts):

• Essential Qualification: Ph.D. (submitted) in any branch of Natural Sciences or MD in relevant fields.

Post-wise Desirable Qualifications and Research Areas:

Post Code 01

• Area: Metabolic Engineering / Synthetic Biology
• Desirable: Experience in microbial genome engineering, publications in SCI journals, or patents
• Job Role: Conduct independent research, guide students, and participate in institutional scientific activities

Post Code 02

• Area: Infectious Disease Biology / Host-Pathogen Interaction
• Desirable: Research experience in immunology, virology, or vaccinology; relevant publications
• Job Role: Establish a research program in infectious diseases, train students, and contribute to collaborative projects

Post Code 03

• Area: Drug Discovery / Molecular Modelling
• Desirable: Experience in computational drug design, structural biology, relevant publications or patents
• Job Role: Carry out independent research in drug development, mentor research staff, and collaborate across disciplines

Age Relaxations:

• SC Candidates: 5 years
• PwBD Candidates: 10 years
• SC + PwBD: 15 years
• Departmental Candidates: Up to 5 years
• Women applicants who are widowed, divorced, or judicially separated (and not remarried) are eligible for special consideration:
  • General: Up to 35 years
  • SC/ST: Up to 40 years

Pay Scale

In addition to basic pay, selected candidates will be entitled to usual allowances as admissible under CSIR rules.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting
   • Applications will be screened by a committee based on eligibility, qualifications, experience, research specialization, and publication record.
   • Only candidates who make the shortlist will receive an interview invitation.
2. Interview
   • Conducted either in-person or via online mode (for overseas applicants).
   • Final merit will be based on interview performance, research excellence, and relevance to CSIR-IMTECH’s research domains.
3. Tie-Breaking Criteria (if required):
   • Higher age
   • Earlier acquisition of qualifying degree
   • Alphabetical order of first name
