The CSIR–Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), a constituent laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the post of Technical Assistant. Candidates with a Diploma or B.Sc. degree in relevant disciplines can apply. The conditions and terms of appointment will be according to CSIR rules and regulations.

- Maximum Age: 28 years
- Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms:

Salary
- Pay Level: Level-6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400) as per 7th CPC
- Basic Pay: ₹35,400 + applicable allowances
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
- TA01 (Mechanical Engineering): Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% marks and 2 years experience in maintenance and operation of scientific instruments/machines.
- TA02 (Computer Science & Engineering): Diploma in relevant field or B.Sc. in Computer Science/IT with relevant experience.
- TA03 (Electronics Engineering): Diploma in Electronics Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience.
- TA04 (Food Science / Food Technology): B.Sc. in Food Science/Food Technology with 1 year of relevant experience or professional qualification.
- TA05 (Microbiology): B.Sc. in Microbiology with 1 year experience or professional qualification.
- TA06 (Chemistry): B.Sc. in Chemistry with 1 year experience or professional qualification.
Experience: Relevant post-qualification experience as required for each post.
Selection Process
- Trade Test: Qualifying in nature. Candidates must clear this stage to appear for the written exam.
- Competitive Written Examination:
- Paper I (Qualifying): Mental Ability Test (50 questions, 100 marks)
- Paper II will consist of two sections: General Awareness with 25 questions carrying 75 marks, and English Language also comprising 25 questions worth 75 marks.
- Paper III: Concerned Subject (100 questions, 300 marks)
- Negative Marking: 1 mark for each wrong answer in Paper II and III
- Final merit will be based on marks in Paper II and III only.

Step 3: Hard Copy Submission
- Print the submitted online application.
- Sign it and attach all required documents and certificates.
