- UGC-defined Research Score of 120.
- Evidence of work in Tamil Classical Archaeology (up to 600 CE).

- Ph.D. in relevant/allied field.
- 10 years of outstanding contributions to archaeology.
Professor – Faculty of Epigraphy & Numismatics
- Essential Qualification:
- Ph.D. in Epigraphy or Numismatics.
- 10 years of academic or research experience.
- Minimum 10 journal publications.
- Must meet the Research Score of 120 (UGC).
- Should have in-depth knowledge and experience studying ancient Tamil inscriptions or old coins from the classical period.

Pay Scale / Salary Structure
The posts carry the pay level of Academic Level 14 under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC):
- Basic Pay: ₹1,44,200 per month
- Pay Matrix: Level 14 (₹1,44,200 – ₹2,18,200)
- Other Allowances: As per central government norms – HRA, DA, TA, etc.
