Professor – Faculty of Archaeology

• Essential Qualification:
  • Ph.D. in Archaeology.
  • At least 10 years of teaching/research with Ph.D. guidance.
  • 10 research publications in reputed journals.
  • UGC-defined Research Score of 120.
  • Evidence of work in Tamil Classical Archaeology (up to 600 CE).

• Outstanding Professional:
  • Ph.D. in relevant/allied field.
  • 10 years of outstanding contributions to archaeology.

Professor – Faculty of Epigraphy & Numismatics

• Essential Qualification:
  • Ph.D. in Epigraphy or Numismatics.
  • 10 years of academic or research experience.
  • Minimum 10 journal publications.
  • Must meet the Research Score of 120 (UGC).
  • Should have in-depth knowledge and experience studying ancient Tamil inscriptions or old coins from the classical period.
• OR
• Outstanding Professional:
  • Ph.D. in relevant subject.
  • 10 years of recognized contributions with professional excellence

Pay Scale / Salary Structure

The posts carry the pay level of Academic Level 14 under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC):

• Basic Pay: ₹1,44,200 per month
• Pay Matrix: Level 14 (₹1,44,200 – ₹2,18,200)
• Other Allowances: As per central government norms – HRA, DA, TA, etc.
• Total Emoluments: May exceed ₹2 lakh/month depending on experience and city category
