The research project titled “Collection, screening and cataloguing of buckwheat (Fagopyrum spp.) cultivars from Himalayan regions and development of package and practices followed by value addition for livelihood enhancement of SC communities” is headed by Dr. K. C. Verma, Principal Investigator.
This project aims to identify and improve buckwheat varieties from the Himalayan region, with the goal of supporting the socio-economic development of Scheduled Caste (SC) communities. By enhancing the crop’s agricultural and nutritional value, the project hopes to make a real difference in people’s lives. It’s a great opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, gain hands-on experience in the field, and be part of meaningful, community-focused agricultural research.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in one of the following or equivalent disciplines:

- Other related fields
Additionally, candidates should have qualified National Eligibility Tests such as CSIR-UGC NET or equivalent.
Experience Required:
Applicants should fulfill the following experience criteria:
- Familiarity with the hill geography of Uttarakhand for field-based sample collection.
- Hands-on experience in phytochemical analysis.
- Willingness and readiness to frequently travel with the project team or independently for sample collection and community interaction.
- Proven ability to write scientifically, with a strong track record of contributing to research documentation, project reports, and technical summaries.
Salary / Emolument
The chosen candidate will be awarded a fixed monthly fellowship stipend of:
- Rs. 31,000/- per month
This amount is subject to the rules and regulations of the funding agency and may be revised as per their instructions.
