Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
Telecom Stream: Candidates must have a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in any of the following disciplines:
- Electronics and Telecommunication
- Electronics
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Electrical
- Instrumentation
- Or a combination of the above with other emerging branches
Finance Stream: Candidates must be Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Management Accountant (CMA).
Additional Requirements:
- Applicants must be Indian citizens.
- Educational qualifications should be from a recognized Indian institute/university established by the Central/State Government or deemed universities under UGC regulations.
- If the degree is awarded in CGPA/OGPA/letter grade format, candidates must provide the equivalent percentage from their university during document verification.
Age Limit (as on 07-03-2026)
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age (General / EWS / OBC (CL)): 30 years
- Maximum Age (OBC (NCL)): 33 years
- Maximum Age (SC / ST): 35 years
- PwBD Candidates: Up to 45 years depending on category
Salary & Benefits
Selected candidates will be recruited under the IDA pay scale [E-3] of Rs. 24,900 – 50,500 (pre-revised). After completing probation, the designation will be Senior Executive (DR) E-3 Pay Scale.

Selection Process
The selection for BSNL SET 2026 will involve:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): Objective type, including sections on aptitude and technical knowledge.
- Normalization of Marks: If multiple sessions are conducted.
- Document Verification: For candidates shortlisted in the merit list.
- Medical Examination: As per company standards.
- Final Merit List: Based on total marks with minimum qualifying marks of:
- General: 40% in each section & 50% overall
- SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/EWS: 35% in each section & 45% overall
Other Important Notes:
- Selected candidates must serve BSNL for a minimum of 5 years under a bond of ₹9 Lakhs.
- Probation period: 2 years with 52 weeks of training (13 weeks each for Common Managerial & Functional training, 26 weeks on-job).
- Negative marking: +1 for correct, -0.25 for wrong answers.
