Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
To be eligible for the Research Associate-I/II position, candidates must fulfill the following academic requirements:
- A PhD degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Systems Biology, Biophysics, or any closely related interdisciplinary area involving computation in life sciences from a recognized institution or university.
Candidates whose doctoral research involved significant computational components applied to biological or biomedical problems will be given preference.
Experience Requirements
In addition to the PhD qualification, candidates must possess:
- Minimum two years of research and development experience in industrial organizations, academic institutions, science and technology organizations, or recognized research establishments.
- Experience should involve scientific research activities, data analysis, software development, or related technical services relevant to computational biology or immunology.
Job Description and Role Responsibilities
The selected Research Associate will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of advanced computational infrastructure supporting immunology research. The responsibilities associated with this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale computational platforms and databases related to immunology and life sciences.
- Developing scientific software modules for efficient data processing, integration, analysis, and visualization of biological datasets.
- Implementing backend services and application programming interfaces (APIs) using Python and other relevant technologies.
- Creating and maintaining web-based user interfaces that allow seamless access to databases and computational tools for researchers.
- Supporting data-driven research by integrating diverse biological datasets, including sequence data, structural data, and omics datasets.
- Ensuring the scalability, performance, and reliability of computational systems used in scientific research.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary research teams to translate biological questions into computational solutions.
Desirable Skills and Experience

Salary Scale and Emoluments
The selected candidate will receive a competitive consolidated salary as per institutional norms and applicable government guidelines.
- Monthly Salary: ₹58,000 to ₹61,000
- House Rent Allowance: 27% of the monthly salary, as applicable
- Total Emoluments: Salary will be fixed based on qualifications, experience, and applicable rules at the time of appointment.
The emoluments are offered in accordance with prevailing norms for Research Associate positions under national research funding guidelines.
Age Limit
- Maximum Age Limit: 35 years
- Age Calculation Date: Age will be calculated as on 01 January 2026.
Relaxation in the upper age limit may be applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government rules.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates for the Research Associate-I/II post will be conducted through a transparent and merit-based process:
