Assam Engineering Service Recruitment Board (AESRB) Assistant Professor (Technical) Recruitment 2025

The Assam Engineering Service Recruitment Board (AESRB) has released a notification inviting online applications for the recruitment of Assistant Professors (Technical) in various branches across Government Engineering Colleges of Assam. Application Fees

• General Category: Rs. 250
• OBC/MOBC Category: Rs. 150
• SC/ST Category: Exempted
• PwBD and BPL Candidates: Exempted

The fee must be paid online through the payment gateway available on the AESRB portal. Applications submitted without the prescribed fee (where applicable) will be rejected.

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2025)

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 38 years

Relaxations in Upper Age Limit

• SC/ST (P)/ST (H): 5 years (up to 43 years)
• OBC/MOBC: 3 years (up to 41 years)
• PwBD: 10 years (up to 48 years)
• Ex-Servicemen:
  • Unreserved: up to 50 years
  • OBC/MOBC: up to 53 years
  • SC/ST: up to 55 years

Vacancy Details

Reservations are applicable for SC, ST(P), ST(H), OBC/MOBC, women candidates, ex-servicemen, and PwBD as per government norms. Posts are also reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities where applicable.

Salary Details

• Pay Scale: Level 10, Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400
• Additional allowances as admissible under Assam Government rules

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications:

For Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, and Instrumentation Engineering:

• B.E./B.Tech./B.S. (4-year degree) and M.E./M.Tech./M.S. or Integrated M.Tech in relevant discipline with First Class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.

For Computer Application:

• B.E./B.Tech. and MCA with First Class in any one of the two degrees
  OR
• Three-year graduation with Mathematics as a compulsory subject and MCA with First Class or equivalent, along with two years of teaching/research/industry experience after acquiring MCA

Additional Note:

• Candidates with a Ph.D. obtained after a Bachelor’s degree from an institute of national importance with GATE/CEED qualifications are also eligible.

Selection Process

1. Written Examination (OMR-Based MCQs) – 75 Marks
   • 75 questions, 1 mark each
   • Negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer
2. Teaching Proficiency Test – 25 Marks
   • Candidates shortlisted from the written exam will be called for this round
   • Original document verification will be conducted on the same day
