Apprenticeship Training Openings at Airports Authority of India (AAI) – Eastern Region for 2025-26

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is a government-owned enterprise recognized as a Miniratna Category-1 organization in the public sector. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) was formed on April 1, 1995, through the integration of the National Airports Authority and the International Airports Authority of India, bringing them together as one unified organization. This amalgamation formed a consolidated organization for the development, upgradation, upkeep, and administration of civil aviation infrastructure, both on the ground and in the Indian airspace. AAI is committed to providing top-quality air travel infrastructure and services across the country.

AAI’s Eastern Region Headquarters has announced the launch of its Apprenticeship Training Program for the 2025–26 period and is inviting applications from interested candidates. The program offers training opportunities at various airports within the Eastern Region of India, including Berhampur, Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, Cooch Behar, and several others. The candidates selected will undergo training in various technical and non-technical disciplines and will be governed by the Apprenticeship Act, 1961, and the policies and rules of the organization.

Important Dates:

  • Advertisement Release Date:  07-05-2025
  • Last Date for Application: 31st May 2025
  • Training Period: 12 months (commencing from the date of contract signing)
  • The application deadline is 31st May 2025, so interested candidates should ensure they submit their applications before this date.
  • The apprenticeship will last for one year, and candidates will be provided training based on their respective discipline.

Application Fees:

  • No Application Fee: There are no application fees required for applying for the apprenticeship training positions. All qualified applicants can submit their applications free of charge.

Vacancy Details:

AAI is offering a total of 135 apprenticeship positions across different disciplines in the Eastern Region. The number of seats may vary, and the organization reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies. The vacancies are divided across three categories:

  1. Graduate Apprentices:
    • Number of Seats: 42
    • Location: RHQ (ER), Berhampur
    • Stipend: Rs. 15,000 per month
    • Duration: 12 months
  2. Diploma Apprentices:
    • Number of Seats: 47
    • Location: Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, Cooch Behar, Deoghar, Gaya, Jharsuguda, Patna, Pakyong, Port Blair, Raipur, Ranchi, Darbhanga
    • Stipend: Rs. 12,000 per month
    • Duration: 12 months
  3. ITI Trade Apprentices:
    • Number of Seats: 46
    • Location: Various locations across Eastern Region
    • Stipend: Rs. 9,000 per month
    • Duration: 12 months

Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility for the apprenticeship positions is limited to Indian citizens who are residents of the Eastern Region, which includes West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Sikkim, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Educational Qualification:

  • Graduate Apprentices: Candidates must possess a full-time, regular four-year degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) or a three-year regular diploma in Engineering, in any of the relevant disciplines, recognized by AICTE.
  • Diploma Apprentices: Applicants must hold a three-year full-time diploma in Engineering from an institute approved by AICTE or the Government of India.
  • ITI Trade Apprentices: Candidates should possess an ITI or NCVT certification in relevant trades such as Computer Operator & Programming Assistant, Electrical, Mechanic, or Electronics, obtained from a recognized institute accredited by AICTE/GOI.

Age Limit:

  • Candidates should be no more than 26 years of age as on 31st March 2025.
  • Age relaxation is provided as per government rules for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWBD categories.

Experience:

  • Candidates who have already completed their apprenticeship or have terminated their apprenticeship midway are not eligible for engagement as an apprentice.
  • Candidates who have more than one year of work experience after completing their essential qualifications are not eligible for the apprenticeship.

Salary/Stipend:

The selected candidates will be provided a monthly stipend based on their apprenticeship category:

  • Graduate Apprentices: Rs. 15,000 per month
  • Diploma Apprentices: Rs. 12,000 per month
  • ITI Trade Apprentices: Rs. 9,000 per month

These stipends are provided during the 12-month training period.

Selection Process:

  1. Provisional Selection:
    • Candidates will be provisionally selected based on the percentage of marks achieved in their qualifying examination (degree, diploma, or ITI). In case two or more candidates have the same percentage of marks, their date of birth and then the date of passing will be used to determine the seniority.
  2. Document Verification:
    • Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. The candidates must produce original documents and self-attested copies, including their medical fitness certificate from a Government medical officer. Candidates will also have to upload soft copies of their documents.
  3. Final Selection:
    • Final selection will be based on document verification, medical examination, and merit. Candidates must attend the document verification and medical examination, but merely attending these steps will not guarantee selection.
  4. Engagement Letter:
    • Once the verification and medical fitness are successfully completed, selected candidates will receive an engagement letter for the apprenticeship training.

Application Process:

Online Application:

  • Interested candidates must apply through the respective portals:
    • For Graduate/Diploma Apprentices, candidates should apply via the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) web portal.
    • For ITI Trade Apprentices, candidates should apply via the Apprenticeship India portal.
  • Candidates are required to choose the establishment “Airports Authority of India – RHQ ER, Kolkata” in the application form and then click the apply button.

Registration Requirement:

  • Before applying for the apprenticeship training at AAI, candidates must complete their registration on the relevant portal (NATS/NAPS/RDAT).

Confirmation of Application

  • Once the application is successfully submitted, candidates will receive a confirmation message stating “Successfully applied for the training position. You will be contacted by the establishment subject to availability.”

No TA/DA:

  • No Travel Allowance (TA) or Dearness Allowance (DA) will be provided for the document verification process or for any stage of the apprenticeship engagement process.

Important Notes:

  • The number of candidates to be engaged is tentative and may change. AAI has the discretion to modify the number of seats.
  • Candidates should verify that they fulfill the eligibility requirements before submitting their application. Incomplete or incorrect applications will be rejected.

Document Verification:

  • Candidates should be prepared to submit original documents such as educational certificates, proof of date of birth, Aadhar card, caste certificates (if applicable), and medical fitness certificates during the verification process.
