The School of Computer Sciences at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for two temporary positions of Project Associate-I (PA-I). These appointments are under a research project funded by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) titled “Basic Research in Computer Sciences” (Project Code: RIN-4001).

Eligibility

Essential Qualifications

To qualify, you must have at least one of these degrees from an accredited university or institution.

• Master’s Degree in Computer Sciences

OR

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology with a specialization in Computer Science or a closely related discipline.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

• Strong programming skills in Python
• Hands-on experience with Machine Learning libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Knowledge of building models, assessing their performance, and conducting data analysis.
• Interest in participating in research activities and publishing scholarly articles

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years as on 6th May 2025
• Relaxations in age may be provided as per Government of India norms for SC/ST/OBC/PwD and other categories

Salary (Monthly Emoluments)

The salary is based on the candidate’s qualification and eligibility under national level examinations:

1. For candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE:
   • ₹31,000/- per month + HRA as per institutional rules
2. For candidates without the above qualifications:
   • A monthly stipend of ₹25,000/- plus House Rent Allowance (HRA) in accordance with the institute’s guidelines.

The applicable HRA will be provided in accordance with government guidelines.

Only shortlisted eligible candidates will be invited to attend the online interview. Final selection will be made based on academic qualifications, relevant skills, and performance during the interview.

No travel or daily allowance will be given for attending the interview or for joining the position upon selection.
