1. Professor
For Medical Candidates:
- Qualifications:
- A medical qualification included in the I or II schedule or part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956.
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g., MD/MS) or recognized equivalent in the respective discipline/subject.
- M.Ch. for surgical super specialities or D.M. for medical super specialities (recognized 2/3/5 years course) or equivalent qualification.
Experience:
- 14 years of teaching/research experience in a recognized institution after obtaining MD/MS or equivalent.
- OR 12 years of teaching/research experience after obtaining M.Ch./D.M. (2/5 years course after MBBS).
- OR 11 years of teaching/research experience for candidates with a 3-year M.Ch./D.M. degree.
For Non-Medical Candidates:
- Qualifications:
- Postgraduate degree in the discipline/allied subject.
- Doctorate degree in the concerned discipline.
Experience:
- 14 years of teaching/research experience in the concerned discipline after obtaining the doctorate degree.
2. Additional Professor

Experience:

- Pay Level: Level 14-A of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
- Minimum Pay: ₹1,68,900/- (Plus NPA for medically qualified candidates).
- Equivalent Pay (6th CPC): ₹37,400-67,000 + AGP ₹10,500/-.
- Additional Professor
- Pay Level: Level 13-A2+ of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
- Minimum Pay: ₹1,48,200/- (Plus NPA for medically qualified candidates).
