ABV-IIITM Gwalior Recruitment 2025: Post-Doctoral Fellow Positions

The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (ABV-IIITM), Gwalior—an institute of national importance established under an Act of Parliament and operating under the Ministry of Education, Government of India—has issued dated 25th April 2025. The institute is inviting applications from highly motivated and qualified Indian nationals for Post-Doctoral Fellow (PDF) positions across various departments.

Vacancy Details

The current recruitment drive includes 10 Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow (IPDF) positions, distributed across five departments. Each department has 2 vacancies.

Note: Vacancies under the EFPDF category depend on the availability of sponsored projects.

Eligibility Criteria

General Conditions for IPDF:

• Nationality: Applicant must be an Indian national.
• Educational Qualification: PhD or equivalent doctorate degree (e.g., D.Sc.) in a relevant discipline from a recognized university/institute with at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale in Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
  • Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis may also apply but must present the PhD award certificate before joining.
• Academic Background: Candidates must possess at least one degree or have regular pay scale work experience from a recognized Centrally Funded Technical Institution (CFTI) such as IISc, IITs, IIITs, NITs, IIMs, ISI, IISERs, or from a foreign university ranked within the top 500 in the QS World University Rankings.
• Age Limit: The candidate must not exceed 35 years of age at the time of application submission.
• Post-PhD Time Limit: Application must be submitted within 5 years from the PhD award date.
• Alumni Condition: Candidates who completed PhD at ABV-IIITM Gwalior are eligible only after one year from the PhD viva approval date.
• Publication Requirement: Minimum of three (3) publications in Q1 journals indexed in SCI/SSCI/SCIE as per the latest Journal Citation Reports (JCR).

For EFPDF:

Eligibility criteria will follow the guidelines of the respective sponsoring agency/project.

Fellowship and Benefits

• Contingency Grant: ₹30,000 per annum for conference travel, consumables, and publication charges (subject to mentor’s recommendation).
• Accommodation: Institute housing provided on availability with applicable charges. HRA admissible if not allotted.
• Leave: As per PhD regulations of the institute.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting: Based on eligibility, academic profile, research output, and alignment with departmental requirements.
2. Presentation & Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a technical presentation followed by a personal interview.
   • Candidates from overseas may attend web interviews.
3. Final Selection: Based on performance in interview and subject to verification of original documents.

Note: The Institute may shortlist candidates for interviews based on merit. The Selection Committee’s decisions will be final throughout the recruitment process.
