Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification
Essential Qualification
- The candidate must have passed Matriculation (10th class) from a recognized school or institution.
- The requirement of passing Matric from a Himachal Pradesh school is relaxed for candidates who are bonafide Himachalis.
Desirable Qualification
- Basic knowledge of animal husbandry activities.
- Familiarity with local customs, traditions, dialects, and manners of Himachal Pradesh.
Higher qualifications will not be considered for additional weightage beyond the Matriculation level.

Selection Process
The selection of candidates for the Pashu Mitra posts will be conducted through a multi-stage process, ensuring transparency and merit-based engagement.
Stage I: Physical Test
All eligible applicants will be required to undergo a physical efficiency test.
- Candidates must carry 25 kilograms of weight over a distance of 100 meters within one minute.
- Details regarding the date, venue, and time of the physical test will be communicated separately.
Only candidates who successfully clear the physical test will be allowed to proceed to the next stage.
Stage II: Merit List and Counseling
- A merit list will be prepared by the Pashu Mitra Engagement Committee for each veterinary institution.
- A panel of five candidates per institution will be shortlisted based on merit.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for counseling and document verification, where original certificates must be produced.
Merit Evaluation Criteria
The final merit score will be calculated out of 100 marks, based on the following parameters:
- Matriculation Marks: Up to 85 marks (percentage multiplied by 0.85)
- Practical Experience in Animal Husbandry: Up to 4.5 marks
- Local Residency Preference: Up to 1 mark
- SC/ST/OBC Category: 1 mark
- BPL/EWS Category: 1.5 marks
- Widow/Divorced/Single Woman: 1.5 marks
- Single Daughter or Orphan: 1 mark
- Landless or Marginal Landholding Family: 2 marks
- Non-Employment Certificate: 1.5 marks
- NSS/NCC/Scouts or National Sports Achievement: 1 mark
