This recruitment drive aims to fill Assistant Professor positions in Clinical, Non-Clinical, and Super Specialty departments across medical institutions functioning under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME).
This is a direct recruitment conducted on a regular basis and includes both backlog and fresh vacancies. Application Fees
The application fee varies according to category and must be paid online during form submission.

The fee once paid is non-refundable under any circumstances. Applications without successful fee payment will be rejected.
Vacancy Details
A total of 220 Assistant Professor vacancies have been notified across different specialties.
Post-wise Vacancy Distribution
- Assistant Professor (Clinical): 130 posts
- Assistant Professor (Non-Clinical): 16 posts
- Assistant Professor (Super Specialty): 74 posts
These vacancies include both regular and backlog positions. The number of posts is tentative and may increase or decrease based on administrative requirements. Detailed subject-wise and category-wise breakup is provided in the official annexure.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must ensure they meet all academic, professional, and service requirements before applying.
Educational Qualifications
For Clinical & Non-Clinical Assistant Professor Posts:
- Postgraduate Degree such as MD / MS / DNB in the relevant specialty
- Degree must be obtained from an institution recognized by MCI or NMC
For Super Specialty Assistant Professor Posts:
- DM / MCh / DNB / DrNB in the concerned super specialty
- Qualification must be from a recognized medical institution
Senior Residency Requirement
- Candidates applying for Clinical and Non-Clinical posts must have completed one year of Senior Residency after acquiring the required postgraduate qualification
- Senior Residency is not mandatory for Super Specialty posts
- Candidates with DNB degrees from non-recognized institutions must complete an additional year of Senior Residency
Only qualifications obtained on or before the notification date will be considered valid.
Age Limit
Age is calculated as on 01 July 2025.
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 42 years
Age Relaxation
- SC / ST / BC / EWS: 5 years
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Eligible for age deduction equal to years of service plus 3 years, subject to maximum age limit
Candidates exceeding the maximum permissible age after applying relaxation are not eligible.
Salary Scale
Selected candidates will receive pay as per 7th UGC Pay Scales.
- Pay Range: ₹68,900 to ₹2,05,500 per month
- Super Specialty Allowance: ₹30,000 per month (additional)
Apart from basic pay, employees are entitled to admissible allowances, leave benefits, pension provisions, and career advancement opportunities as per Andhra Pradesh Government norms.
Selection Process
Selection is based purely on merit and reservation rules, with a total score of 100 marks.
Marks Distribution
- Qualifying Examination: 75 marks
- Experience Weightage (Post-Qualification):
- Up to 10 marks (1 mark per completed year after PG / Super Specialty)
- Central Institution Qualification:
- 5 marks for candidates who completed PG / Super Specialty from central institutions
Contract Service Weightage
Additional marks are awarded for government contract service:
- COVID-19 Service: 5 marks per six months
- Tribal Area Service: 2.5 marks per six months
- Rural Area Service: 2 marks per six months
- Urban Area Service: 1 mark per six months
Only completed service periods of six months or more are considered. All service certificates must be uploaded in the prescribed format. Incomplete or improperly issued certificates will not be accepted.
The notification date is treated as the cut-off for calculating all weightage marks.
