UPMRC Electrical Engineering Jobs 2025: Chief Engineer Post Available

The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRC), a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh, has released an official notification inviting applications for the post of Chief Engineer (Electrical). This recruitment is on a deputation/absorption basis and is aimed at experienced professionals currently serving in various Government organisations, PSUs, or Metro Rail Corporations across India.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a background in Rolling Stock and/or Traction, from a Government-recognized University or Institute.

Work Experience and Pay Scale Requirements

For CDA Pay Scale Applicants:

• Officers working in SAG Pay Scale of Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200 (Level-14) or Rs. 37,400 – 67,000 + Grade Pay Rs. 10,000 (Pre-revised).
• OR officers working in Pay Scale of Rs. 1,23,100 – 2,15,900 (Level-13) or Rs. 37,400 – 67,000 + Grade Pay Rs. 8,700 (Pre-revised) with a minimum of 17 years post-qualification experience in a Gazetted/Executive capacity in Government/PSU (including deputation service).

For IDA Pay Scale Applicants:

• Officers working in IDA Pay Scale of Rs. 1,20,000 – 2,80,000 (Revised) or Rs. 51,300 – 73,000 (Pre-revised).
• OR officers in the Pay Scale of Rs. 90,000 – 2,40,000 (Revised) or Rs. 36,600 – 62,000 (Pre-revised) with 17 years of post-qualification experience in Gazetted/Executive roles in a Government organisation/PSU.

Essential Work Experience

• Experience in Design, Manufacturing, Construction, Operation and Maintenance of Rolling Stock, and traction distribution in Railways/Metro systems.
• Proficiency in a computerized work environment is essential.

Desirable Work Experience

• Hands-on experience with Metro electrical and mechanical services including lifts, escalators, electricity regulations, and renewable energy systems.
• Familiarity with various computer applications relevant to the job will be an added advantage.

Age Limit

• Maximum age should not exceed 55 years as on the closing date of the vacancy notice (27 June 2025).

Pay Scale

• On Deputation: Parent Pay + Deputation Allowance
• On Absorption: Rs. 1,20,000 – 2,80,000 (IDA pay scale)

Selection Process

• The selection will be based on an interview held at Lucknow.
• UPMRC reserves the right to shortlist candidates based on:

  • Higher Relevant Experience
  • Possession of Desirable Qualifications
• Final selection will be based purely on merit and performance in the interview.
