CBDT Jobs 2025: Apply for Director, Additional Director & Assistant Director (Systems) on Deputation

​The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), under the Directorate of Income Tax (Systems), has issued an advertisement for inviting application for filling the vacancies of Director (Systems), Additional Director (Systems), and Assistant Director (Systems) on deputation basis in various attached and subordinate offices of the Department in various places in India.

This recruitment offers a fine career growth opportunity to competent officers who are already in service in Central or State Governments, PSUs, statutory or autonomous bodies, or established research institutions. Grouped under General Central Services Group ‘A’ (Gazetted), these positions offer an opportunity to contribute to one of the most significant IT departments of India’s tax system.

3. Assistant Director (Systems)

• Number of Vacancies: 531
• Place of Posting: Various locations across India (as per attached station-wise vacancy list in Annexure – Stn – AD)

Eligibility Criteria

A. Director (Systems)

• Pay Level: Level 13A in Pay Matrix
• Eligibility:
  • Officers from Central/State Governments, UTs, PSUs, statutory/autonomous bodies, recognized research institutions, or universities.
  • Holding analogous posts OR
  • Two years’ regular service in Level 13.
  • Educational Qualification: Master’s in Computer Applications / MSc in CS/IT OR BE/B.Tech in relevant Computer disciplines.
  • Experience: 12 years post-qualification experience in Programming or Information Systems.

B. Additional Director (Systems)

• Pay Level: Level 13 in Pay Matrix
• Eligibility:
  • Similar to Director (Systems).
  • Holding analogous posts OR
  • Five years’ service in Level 12 (Rs. 78800–209200).
  • Educational Qualification: Same as above.
  • Experience: 10 years post-qualification experience in Programming or Information Systems.

C. Assistant Director (Systems)

• Pay Level Level 10 of the Pay Matrix( original topre-revised Pay Band- 3 with Grade Pay of ₹ 5400).
• Eligibility:
  • Officers from Central Government holding:
    • Analogous posts OR
    • Two years’ regular service in Rs. 7500–12000 (5th CPC) OR
    • Five years’ service in Rs. 6500–10500 (5th CPC) OR
    • Eight years’ service in Rs. 5500–9000 (5th CPC)
  • Educational Qualification:
    • Various acceptable qualifications, including:
      • Master’s in Computer Applications / CS / M.Tech
      • BE/B.Tech in Computer Engineering or related fields
      • DOEACC ‘A’ level or equivalent with experience
  • Experience:
    • Ranges from 2 to 4 years in EDP (Electronic Data Processing), with significant time in programming.

Age Limit

• The maximum age limit for all positions is 56 times as on the ending date of damage of operations.

Pay Scale

1. Director (Systems):

• Level 13A of Pay Matrix
• Option to draw parent cadre basic pay + Deputation (Duty) Allowance + Personal Pay (if any)

2. Additional Director (Systems):

• Level 13 of Pay Matrix
• Same deputation allowance benefits as above

3. Assistant Director (Systems):

• Level 10 of Pay Matrix (PB-3, Rs. 15600–39100 + GP 5400)
• Deputation pay and allowances as per DoPT guidelines
