National Water Development Agency Jobs 2025: Civil Engineers Wanted on Deputation

The National Water Development Agency (NWDA), under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, has announced a recruitment drive to fill 13 prestigious positions on a deputation (including short-term contract) basis. This is an excellent opportunity for eligible officers from Central/State Governments, PSUs, Semi-Government, and other organizations to contribute to major water resource development initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria

Superintending Engineer (Civil)

• Educational Qualification Degree in Civil Engineering or original from a honored university.
• Experience: At least 5 years in applied research in irrigation and water utilization or related work such as surveys, investigations, designs, construction, operation, and maintenance of irrigation projects.
• Deputation Eligibility:
  • Holding an similar post on regular base in parent skeleton/ department; or
  • 5 years of regular service in Level-11 (Rs. 67700–208700) or equivalent.
• Age Limit Should n’t exceed 56 times on the ending date of operation.
• Tenure: The maximum duration of deputation, including any short-term contract, is up to 3 years.

Deputy Director / Executive Engineer (Civil)

• Educational Qualification Diploma/ Degree in Civil Engineering or original from a honored institution.
• Experience minimal 5 times in applied exploration, checks, examinations, design, or operation and conservation of irrigation systems.
• Deputation Eligibility:
  • Holding an analogous post on regular basis; or
  • 5 years regular service in Level-10 (Rs. 56100–177500) or equivalent.
• Age Limit Not exceeding 56 times as on the ending date of operations.
• Tenure: Deputation for a period not exceeding 3 years.

Pay Scale

• Superintending Engineer (Civil):
• Pay Level: 12 (₹78,800 – ₹2,09,200) as per the Pay Matrix.
• Deputy Director / Executive Engineer (Civil):
• The position carries Pay Level 11 in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, with a salary range of ₹67,700 to ₹2,08,700.

Selection Process

• Mode of Selection: Deputation (including short-term contract)
• The final selection will be based on scrutiny of eligibility, past performance (as per APAR/ACRs), and vigilance clearance.

  • Certified copies of APARs/ACRs for the last five years.
