Junior Technician Recruitment 2025 by AVNL at Ordnance Factory Medak

Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL), a key Defence Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, is seeking skilled individuals for appointment as Junior Technicians (Contract). These roles are based at Ordnance Factory Medak (OFMK), located in Yeddumailaram, Sangareddy, Telangana. The recruitment is being conducted on a fixed-term contract basis to address short-term functional needs in the technical operations of the organization.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• For Examiner Engineering:
  National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) or National Trade Certificate (NTC) in Fitter (Electronics) issued by NCVT.
• For Fitter General:
  Possession of a NAC or NTC certificate in any of the specified trades, granted by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).

  • Mechanic Machine Tool Maintenance
  • Tool & Die Maker

Note: Higher qualifications than those prescribed are not eligible.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant trade.
• Should have the ability to analyze engineering drawings and understand technical specifications.
• Preferred: Familiarity with the primary and secondary assemblies of BMP Tanks-T90/TT2.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Upper age limit: 30 years as of the advertisement’s publication date.

Age Relaxation (as per government norms):

• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
• SC/ST: 5 years
• PwBD: 10 years
• Ex-Apprentice Trainees: Relaxation for the duration of apprenticeship
• Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation of up to 3 years, with the service period deducted.
• Maximum age including relaxations should not exceed 55 years

Salary and Benefits

• Basic Pay: ₹21,000/- per month
• Dearness Allowance (IDA): As applicable
• Special Allowance: 5% of basic pay
• Annual Increment: 3% on basic pay
• Monthly Additional Allowance: ₹3,000/- for medical, insurance, travel, and phone usage
• Provident Fund: Contributions as per norms (Basic Pay + DA)
• Gratuity: 15 days pay per completed year of service (after 1 year)
• Ex-Gratia (Accidental Death): ₹10 lakhs
• Accommodation: May be provided subject to availability (No HRA if provided)
• Canteen Facility: Available

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting:
   Based on marks obtained in NTC/NAC (only NCVT-certified candidates considered). In case both are held, NTC marks will be used.
2. Document Verification:
   Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification before the trade test.
3. Trade Test:
   Qualifying in nature; candidates are assessed as “Fit” or “Unfit”.
4. Merit List:
   Final selection list will be prepared based on the marks secured in the NTC/NAC examination and applicable weightage.

Additional Weightage:

• Ex-Apprentices of AVNL group of units will receive 5 additional marks.

Minimum Marks Required:

• 65% in qualifying exam (NTC/NAC), relaxable by 10% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
