IIT Mandi JRF Jobs 2025 – Research Opportunity in Himachal Pradesh

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, is calling Indian nationals for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) post. The recruitment is for an interim junior research  fellow post against a government-funded research work “A GaN Based AC-DC Converter for Class-I P/S of NPP with Improved Performance Characteristics” funded by Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Govt. of India.

Project Details

• Project Title: Development of a GaN-Based AC-DC Converter for Class-I Power Supply in Nuclear Power Plants, Aimed at Enhanced Performance.
• Funding Support: This project is backed by the Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), operating under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.
• Principal Investigator (PI): Dr. Amit Kumar Singha
• Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI): Dr. Akhilanand Pati Tiwari
• Department: This position is offered through the School of Computing and Electrical Engineering (SCEE) at IIT Mandi.
• Project Duration: 36 months (Project end date: 22 January 2028)
• Initial Appointment Duration: 12 months or until the project end date, whichever is earlier (extension based on performance)

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

1. B.Tech. or equivalent in:
   Electrical Engineering
   Electrical and Electronics Engineering
   Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering
2. M.Tech. or equivalent in:
   Power Electronics and Drives
   Power Electronics
   Control Systems Engineering
3. Academic Performance:
   Minimum of 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA in all academic degrees
4. GATE Qualification:
   Must have qualified GATE in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering

Selection Process
