The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (UPMRC) has released a job notification for the post of Project Director on a deputation/absorption basis. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• B.Tech in Civil Engineering or an equivalent degree from a government-recognized university/institution.

Experience Requirements

1. Minimum 20 years of executive-level experience in Government/PSUs/Metro Projects.
2. Should have worked at least 2 years in the Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) or equivalent pay scale:
   • ₹1,20,000 – ₹2,80,000 (IDA Scale) OR
   • ₹1,44,200 – ₹2,18,200 (CDA Pay Level-14 as per 7th CPC).
3. If the applicant has private sector experience, it will be considered only if they have later worked in Government/PSU/Metro Projects.

Work Experience Requirements

• Essential Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Planning, Construction, Tendering, and Execution of large infrastructure projects related to Metro or Railways.
  • Knowledge of underground metro construction (including tunnels).
  • Experience in handling internationally funded contracts from planning to commissioning.
• Desirable Experience:
  • Working with international funding institutions on metro/railway projects.
  • Coordination with track installation, signaling, electrification, and rolling stock teams.
  • Expertise in safety regulations for metro projects and CMRS (Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety) clearances.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting of candidates based on their eligibility and experience.
2. Shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview at UPMRC Headquarters in Lucknow.
3. The final selection will be based on interview performance.

Shortlisting Criteria (If Applications are High)

If the number of applicants is large, UPMRC may shortlist candidates based on:

• Higher educational qualifications than the minimum required.
• Additional work experience beyond the required eligibility.
• Desirable experience such as international project handling or safety compliance.

Additional Information for Absorption Basis Applicants

• Surety Bond Requirement:
  • Selected candidates on absorption basis must sign a ₹3,00,000 Surety Bond to serve UPMRC for at least 3 years.
  • A 3-month notice period is required before resignation.
• Probation Period: 1 year (including training).
• Medical Fitness: Candidates must be physically & medically fit.
