The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) invites applications from eligible candidates for the post of Bank’s Medical Officer (BMO) on a contract basis with fixed hourly remuneration. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing medical consultation and healthcare services at NABARD’s dispensary in Vijayawada. The engagement will be for an initial period of five years, renewable upon performance review, up to the age of 70 years.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification:
- Must possess an MBBS degree from a university recognized by the Medical Council of India.
- Candidates with a postgraduate degree in General Medicine will be given preference.
- Experience:
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Medical Practitioner in any hospital or clinic.
- Technical Skills:
- Must have working knowledge of computers.
- Residential Proximity:
- The applicant should have a dispensary or reside within 3-5 km of NABARD’s dispensary in Vijayawada.
Remuneration & Duty Hours:
- Remuneration:
- ₹1,000 per hour during the first three years of service.
- ₹1,200 per hour after three years.
- ₹1,000 per month as conveyance expense.
- Duty Hours:
- NABARD Regional Office: 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
- BMO’s Dispensary/Residence: 05:30 PM to 07:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
- Location Flexibility:
- NABARD reserves the right to alter the duty hours and location based on administrative requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical consultation and advice to NABARD employees, retirees, and their dependents.
- Offer free medical services like administering injections and dressings during dispensary hours.
- Issue prescription orders for medicines through NABARD-approved chemists.
- Provide hospitalization orders for NABARD staff and dependents when required.
- Assist in medical claims processing by verifying and recommending claims.
- Home visits for NABARD employees if required.
- Refer patients to specialists and certify medical necessity.
- Arrange for preventive vaccinations and medical awareness programs for staff.
- Support hospital empanelment procedures and visit NABARD patients in hospitals.
- Conduct medical check-ups for NABARD employees and prospective hires.
- Stay updated with NABARD’s medical guidelines and ensure compliance.
- Be available on-call during emergencies and make substitute arrangements when unavailable.
Terms and Conditions:
- The contract may be terminated with one month’s notice on either side.
- The BMO must arrange for a substitute doctor when absent.
- The BMO should not promote any specific brand, specialist, or pharmacy.
- No residential accommodation will be provided.
- The contract may be terminated without notice if performance is unsatisfactory.
- The BMO will be required to maintain strict confidentiality about NABARD affairs.
- Attendance is not required on Bank holidays unless necessary.
Selection Process:
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview conducted by NABARD, Andhra Pradesh Regional Office.
- The selection will be based on interview performance, and the Bank may revise eligibility criteria to limit the number of candidates.
- Selected candidates will be subject to medical fitness tests before final engagement.
- The selected candidate must accept the Terms and Conditions outlined in Annexure I of the job advertisement.
